Adaptability is the name of the game when it comes to the recent changes to the commission model in the real estate landscape. Today, I’m going to answer one question asked by a client about the deconstruction of the commission model: “Do you believe the deconstruction of the commission model will affect you and your team?”

Before answering that question, I will first address two significant changes. First, communication of buyer agent commissions in the multiple listing service (MLS) will no longer be allowed. Second, buyers will be required to have a buyer agency representation agreement before viewing the home.

“We will continue to effectively market homes and engage in transparent commission discussions.”

These changes are going to affect me and my team, but not in terms of sales or the ability to market transactions and listings. While some people may fear the decrease in home sales or marketing capabilities, I assure you that my team and I are prepared to adapt to these changes. Market fluctuations and modifications are a natural part of the real estate industry, but our steadfast commitment to serving clients remains strong.

We will adhere to the regulations set by the Commerce Department and the NAR and, at the same time, dedicate ourselves to prioritizing the client’s interests above all else. Despite the changes in commission structures and buyer representation protocols, we will continue to effectively market homes and engage in transparent commission discussions.

Whether you are buying, selling, or investing in real estate, I invite you to engage in meaningful conversations with us to navigate these new changes effectively. You can also call us or send us an email if you want personalized guidance and expert advice.
